A Busy Weekend!

My first workshop has come and went really well! It was a big hit with everyone who attended, including the lady who "doesn't craft" and was only coming to drink. She even brought Jello shooters! (She ended up splitting an order with another neighbour and getting excited about the projects we did!)

It didn't go nearly as horribly as I feared and it was nice that it was one of my best friend's hosting, since it was pretty low key! I'm sure the free flowing wine helped make the sales! I also booked another workshop and got two people to sign up for my Stamp Club starting in January!

Tonight, my upline Isabelle is popping over to help me place my first order! I've decided to order the Big Shot as well, and while I know that it'll be forever and a day until it gets here, I'm still excited!

And, today's excitement comes from the UPS website -- I think this is one of the happiest sights, even if it is just a supply order:

Tonight, I'm off to meet with my new hostess before entering the order. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do a bit of prep for Friday's workshop as well. I'm loving this whole thing, but I'm out each Friday night this month (granted, the last Friday is one for me -- Ronda and I are off scrapbooking!).

Starting off with a BANG!

Well, since I've received my starter kit from SU!, as well as my business cards and labels, I've booked 2 (yes, TWO!) workshops for the next two Friday nights! I'm VERY excited!

Of course, I'm also terrified and VERY worried that I won't have enough supplies! I've decided to do 3 make and takes for each of my workshops -- I know it works because it's what hooked me in! Why mess with a good thing, right?

I haven't placed my first order yet because I'm waiting for the workshops to happen to take advantage of the bonus on your first order. But, I'm sure my lovely upline can help me out in a pinch!

I'm a little disappointed because all the ideas that are on the Demo website for the starter kit appear to be for the older starter kit, but I've managed to get at least 2 put together for the first workshop. I've got to figure out a Christmas one (only seems appropriate since we're getting so much closer!) and then I've got the 3 for that one.

Question though, for anyone reading this -- what are you ideas for WOW cards when you only have access to glitter (bought when I was just a customer) and pastels (which I'm not crazy about...)? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

In non-SU! related news:

This morning we tried out The Little Gym with our baby group -- which was a ton of fun! Afterwards, we went back to one of the baby's houses for a Kraft Dinner party (for our neighbours to the south, that would be a macaroni and cheese party! *grin*) I think we may sign up Colin for the winter session -- he seemed to love it! Once we've got the pictures downloaded, I'll try and remember to post some from there, as well as all dressed up for Halloween (yes, I did finish his costume in time!)

Right now, he's taking a long overdue nap -- the time change seems to be affecting him pretty hard already! Hopefully it eases up over the next few days as he gets used to it.

Phew!

Well, it's been a VERY busy week around here!

DH has had a horrid cold/flu/something that has been sticking around for nearly a whole week! Ugh.

Wednesday, I was at a conference all day learning about employment law -- I know, contain your excitement!! ;-) I had a hard time too!

But then, THURSDAY! Thank goodness for Thursday! Because, the lovely man in the brown uniform brought a GIANT box to the office for me! YAY! It was all I could do to not to spend the rest of the afternoon looking at and playing with my starter kit for Stampin' Up!! But, I got to spend plenty of time playing later that night when my upline came over to walk me through the kit and talk about getting started. I'm really excited to be getting started -- I think I might even start the whole thing off with a bang and order the Big Shot on my first order!

Today, I've been cutting and sewing like a madwoman -- I've had the stuff for my son's Hallowe'en costume for about a month, but between work and house stuff, haven't had a chance to start it. With a whole lot of luck, he'll get to dress up as an elephant. Worst case scenario? He knows that a ghost says "Boo!" and we can probably russle up a white sheet! *grin*

This week is going to be another busy one, but I'm determined to finish the hallowe'en costume and get some stamping in. I also need to pop over to my neighbour's house -- she's agreed to be a hostess (yay!) and is using any of her hostess rewards as raffle prizes for her Crop for the Cure in January. Hopefully, we'll be able to earn a whole bunch of free stuff for her!

So Excited!

Well, I've had my first commenter (hi Elizabeth!)!

I've gotten my SU! login, so I've been trolling through the site, soaking it all up like a sponge! ANNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD! I just got an email today saying that my starter kit is shipping!! Hooray! I cannot wait until it gets here! It's being delivered to my office, so it's gonna be hard to not rip it open and play as soon as it arrives (somehow, I think my boss might frown upon that!!) I think that hoping it will show up tomorrow before the weekend is wishful thinking! Somehow, I don't think it'll ship that fast up to Canada! hahaha!

I'm so excited to get started with this! I think it's going to be a blast! Anyhoo, off to my craft room to play for a bit before my little one wakes up! I'm home today because he had his 15 month appointment with the doctor -- doing good, growing like a weed, didn't like his shots too much, but I can't say that I blame him!!

Cheers! Mel

Welcome!

Well, this is my first official post.

Tonight, I'm signing up to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I'm extremely excited about this opportunity and am looking forward to getting to know new people and share my love of these products!

I've only been stamping for about 4 or 5 months, but when you find a good thing, you just know that it's right for you.
